President

Pat began playing pickleball in 2019 and joined the OPA in 2020 after playing almost daily outdoors and connecting with many wonderful people in the community. She became the Secretary of the OPA Board in 2023 and was appointed Chair of the Board in 2025.

Secretary

Grace Jose was introduced to pickleball in 2023 while on a cruise with her husband, and they were instantly hooked. As a small business owner, Grace enjoys the flexibility to play regularly throughout the week, fully embracing her newfound passion. She appreciates the friendly and welcoming community that pickleball fosters and treasures the many friendships she has formed through the sport. As Secretary of the Board, Grace applies her organizational skills and enthusiasm to support the growth and success of the Oakville Pickleball Association.

Danny Jose

Director of Membership

As the Director of Membership for the Oakville Pickleball Association (OPA), Danny’s passion is sharing the joy of pickleball with new players. When Danny first stepped onto the public courts, experienced players welcomed him with open arms, instantly making him feel like he belonged. That welcoming spirit is something he wants to give back to every new member. Danny’s focus is on making sure everyone, regardless of their skill level, feels comfortable and has a great time. His goal is to make the OPA a place where fun is the priority and everyone feels right at home on the court.

mary anne Semanyshyn

Director of Town Affairs

Mary Anne is an enthusiastic pickleball player who loves the courts in Oakville. She started playing in October 2016 and quickly became passionate about the sport. In 2019, she became the interim president of the Oakville Pickleball Association (OPA) and served until 2023, after which she continued on the Board to improve local parks and facilities. Despite the challenges of working with government entities, she finds the results rewarding. Mary Anne values the friendships and memories she has made through pickleball, both on and off the courts.

Sonya Kopecky

Director of Programs

Sonya discovered pickleball at a work event in Phoenix, AZ, and was quickly captivated by its blend of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. After retiring last year, she took group lessons with the Town of Oakville, where she improved her skills and connected with a great community of players. Through regular play, Sonya found joy in both the competition and social interaction that the game offers.

Don Moseley-Williams

Past President

Don has been a member of the OPA Board of Directors since its inception in 2017. He has worked closely with the Town of Oakville recreation staff to establish outdoor pickleball courts and design the layout of indoor courts in various gymnasiums. Additionally, he participated in the Canadian Pickleball Championships in both 2019 and 2022. His goal is to host the Canadian Pickleball Championships in Oakville by 2028.

Terra Bovingdon

Social Activities

Meet Terra Bovingdon, who has been addicted to pickleball since 2020. Terra loves everything about the sport, especially the opportunity to meet everyone drawn to it. For the past three years, she has served as the OPA Social Activities Officer and has been involved in organizing events for five years. It brings Terra great joy to plan social gatherings that connect members, such as “Dinks and Drinks,” the Christmas party, and Spring Fling. See you on the courts!

Ally Williams

Trillium League

Ally discovered pickleball at the end of the COVID-19 pandemic and quickly fell in love with the game. Since then, she has competed in numerous tournaments and has become a Certified Pickleball Instructor (NCCP Level 1). What she enjoys most about pickleball is the vibrant and inclusive community it fosters, welcoming players of all ages and skill levels. As an officer of the Trillium League, Ally is passionate about promoting the sport and helping others experience the same joy she has found in it.

Gillian Burman

Gillian is a passionate advocate for the growth of pickleball in the Oakville community. As a key member of the Oakville Pickleball Association (OPA) board, Gillian continues to make a meaningful impact by leading initiatives related to grants and sponsorships. Her efforts help ensure that the sport thrives and remains accessible to players of all levels. Gillian’s dedication reflects her love for the game and her belief in fostering a strong, inclusive pickleball community.

Victoria Bomben

Communications

With a passion for both community and communication, Victoria is dedicated to keeping Oakville’s pickleball members informed, connected, and engaged. Having played pickleball for the past four years, Victoria understands firsthand the joy, camaraderie, and energy the game brings. Combining professional expertise in communications, marketing & real estate (Home is where the court is… :-) ) with a genuine love for the sport, Victoria ensures members have the latest updates, news, and opportunities to get involved—strengthening the sense of community both on and off the court.

Kim Bildfell

Volunteer Committee

Kim began playing pickleball with her neighbours in 2023 on the outdoor courts in Oakville. She enjoyed the game so much that she joined some indoor leagues in town and with the OPA. Over the past year, Kim has volunteered with the OPA in different roles and has now taken on a more active position as the Volunteer Coordinator on the OPA Board. She looks forward to playing more, meeting new people, and supporting the OPA in all its activities.
